Support My Blog

My blog is free and will always be free. :)

I want to continue to try to bring hope to people as they deal with the many struggles life can bring.  Through my blog articles I try to spread the message that no matter what situation people find themselves in life, there is always a reason to have hope. I try to help people understand that they are not alone in their struggles and provide them with insights that they may not have thought about. I want to continue to provide hope and comfort to people for a long time.

In the short term I am using advertising to be able to get some money to sustain my blog. But ads are distracting and not comfortable for the reader, they dont really make me any money, and in the long term I would like to remove them by finding another source of funding. Donations from readers who believe my blog articles are helpful and insightful is a means to continue my blog.

I need to make self-sustaining for this to work.  In order to dedicate sufficient time and resources to writing meaningful and helpful articles, I need to be able to support myself and the blog site. People write me all the time telling me how much my articles have helped them and this brings me great satisfaction and drives me to write more. But I cannot do this without monetary help.

What I'll Use the Money For

Facebook post "boosts".  If I don't spend money on boosting/advertising my posts, Facebook hides it from  most of my followers, and only about 10% get an update. (!) Can you believe it?! So,  I need to spend my own money to boost posts to make sure all my followers can read them. It costs 10-25 dollars per post. I post at least 5 times a week. So, you do the math...

Hosting. I need a robust enough hosting plan to enable the blog site to be reliable and handle the load of the millions of visitors.

MailChimp. The service I use to email posts out to the subscription list. This fee grows as the email list grows.
Ongoing web development. It's a website, so there are always upsetting glitches coming out of nowhere and occasionally, I add a new site features. I don't have any programming skills, so I need to pay someone for this.

Me. I need to continue to eat things and wear things and turn lights on as I write posts. I'm a girl who lives in a tiny NY  apartment with roommates, so my needs are minimal. But I still have them. :)
That's the basics. With those pieces covered, my blog can support itself.

So, how can you help me?

1) Make a small monthly pledge through Patreon. Patreon is a service made for this exact situation. You can click the button below to see my page:

2) Make a one-time donation. If monthly pledges aren’t your thing, normal donation works great too.

3) Subscribe. The best way for a blog to grow a long-lasting readership is with email subscription. Plus, it’s easier than having to remember to come back to the site again and again or guess exactly when I will post each new article.
